History:
In 1994 the Entrust Foundation began its work under the name of "Trust in Christ".  Since that time, Entrust's focus has sharpened, and we have grown in experience.  Entrust's new name communicates its passion and purpose: "We entrust resources to those who entrust gospel ministry to others.  Foundation reflects our core activity--grant making-but also echoes the basis of all authentic ministry and training: the foundation of the gospel.  Entrust Foundation exists to equip pastors in the majority world to build the local church."  Since Entrust's inception we have given over GBP 2 million in grants.

entrust_webPlace of Service: Entrust Foundation is headquarted in the United Kingdom, but we support around 20 partner projects across the global south.  The partner projects include regional clusters in Africa and parts of Asia as well as isolated projects in other parts of the world.

Purpose and Vision: "Our sole passion and purpose is to increase the number and quality of church leaders in the global south...We encourage church leadership development initiatives that are focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ which serve local churches and that deliver pastor training at the grassroots level."

We support our project partners through three main activities: grant making, capacity building, and curriculum development.  Grant making is our main focus, but we also seek co-funders to work with us.

In addition, capacity building makes us more than a donor.  We invest in the key leaders of our partner projects, and we are becoming more involved in direct training and mentoring.

With curriculum development, we encourage our partners to design and develop their own resources, but we also offer our advice and resources and encourage sharing between our partners.

Entrust also has four key strategies that guide us in all we do: networking, mentoring, consulting, and co-investing.  Networking runs through everything we do, and we believe that the sharing of ideas and exchange is valuable.

Second, mentoring is the way that we invest in "life to life" sharing and encouraging and it affects our partners, our grant making, our investment in leaders, and the types of training that we encourage.

Thirdly, consulting is listening and learning from others and also offering our own insights and expertise.  This affects all our activities, but mostly in the area of curriculum development.

Lastly, co-investing is of strategic importance as we seek people who can interest us in their work, and as we also seek others, who want to invest their time, talents or co-fund with us.

Prayer Requests:
  • Pray for grace as we serve in our local church (Muizenberg Community Church), especially for Jem to be an encouragement to Brian, the pastor.
  • Pray for the Entrust Foundation as it seeks to grow its work faithfully.
  • Pray for David Vecchitto as he serves on the Advisory Committee and encourages project partners.
  • Pray for productive relationships to be built locally for the gospel.
  • Pray for Jem as he develops a curriculum for pastoral training in sub-Sahara Africa.  Pray that Jem would have the wisdom to prioritize the topics and be able to contextualize the training for Africa.
  • Pray for the local pastor training work, that many would be built up.
